Job summary

The Suites - Grants Pass in Oregon is seeking a Care Partner to assist elders with daily living, health monitoring, and companionship. This part-time role covers shifts from 1:30p to 10p with up to 30 hours per week, and additional shifts available if desired.

You will work with a compassionate team to help residents with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, and social activities, while documenting health changes and communicating with the Wellness Team.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Licensing documentation (if required by your state) and pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• Provide emotional support: engage in conversation, active listening, and companionship.
• Assist with meals: help elders with meals and possibly assist feeding.
• Engage in social and recreational activities: support life-enriching activities for residents.
• Connect: communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• Keep things clean: light housekeeping and ensuring general cleanliness.

What You’ll do

As a Care Partner, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
• You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder’s health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
• You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
• You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
• You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.
