Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health seeks a part-time hourly program coordinator for the Babies Can't Wait program within the Coastal Health District. This role supports screening and early identification for infants and toddlers with developmental delays, coordinating evaluations and team meetings, and ensuring program compliance.

Ideal candidates have a related bachelor's degree, six years of experience with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, and may require licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and six years of related experience, including one year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role.
  • Some positions require eligibility for licensure.
  • Preferred: experience with Babies Can't Wait or out-of-state Early Intervention programs.

Responsibilities

  • Trains and supervises BCW Special Instructors and licensed providers.
  • Co-leads Primary Service Provider meetings for PSP Teams.
  • Monitors compliance with state/federal guidelines and completes required reports and audits.
  • Attends required trainings and participates as a team member.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PURPOSE: Babies Can't Wait is to provide early identification and screening of children with developmental delays and chronic health conditions birth to three yearsof-age; to improve the developmental potential of infants and toddlers with developmental delays or chronic health conditions; to support family members and caregivers to enhance children's learning and development through everyday learning opportunity

This is a part-time hourly position and not eligible for benefits

All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Trains and supervises all BCW Special Instructors and licensed providers with the BCW program; Co-leads the Primary Service Provider meetings for all PSP Teams in the district and may enter payment for all PSP team meetings; Assists with monitoring, assessing, and evaluating BCW program/ providers to determine compliance with state/federal guidelines; Completes fiscal audit; Monitors project SCEIS records; Monitors service provision and documentation; Completes chart reviews; Leads LICC meetings; Reviews Eligibility Evaluation uploaded by evaluators. Completes Developmental evaluations; Processes BCW reports and assists with contracts; Attends required BCW trainings; Function as a team player; Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of job-related experience, which includes one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Coord 2 (SSP031) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions require eligibility for licensure

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with Babies Can't Wait or out of state Early Intervention program.
  • Bilingual - Spanish/English.
