Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Adult Education GED /pre-GED Preparation Instructor to join our team and support adult learners in enhancing their basic academic skills in Reading, Language Arts, Writing , Social Studies fundamentals , and Science fundamentals . The ideal candidate will work with a dult learners in a rolling enrollment environment, preparing students to move on to our GED Prep aration Course and/or pass the GED test, thereby enabling students to successfully transition to post-secondary education, advanced training, the military, or employment . Workplace preparation is an area of emphasis. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the instructor will focus on providing foundational reading and writing instruction, fostering student engagement, and ensuring all learners ultimately demonstrate the necessary academic requirements for GED completion and employment. This may be an ideal part-time position for a retired or active special educator, middle/elementary/secondary level teacher, or reading specialist.
Bachelor’s degree required . Minimum three years’ experience in education; ability to identify learning styles and create a positive learning environment; ability to work independently to meet program goals; able to work individually in a one-to-one setting as necessary; previous experience working with at risk, LD population, aged 16 to 24. RI Teacher Certification a plus.
