Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a Psychosocial Rehab Tech (CCCA) for full-time work in Staunton, VA. PSR Techs run individual and group activities during day, evening and weekend shifts to provide engaging experiences and support treatment under the PSR Director.

• Ability to evaluate and report children's progress to other clinical team members including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, and direct care staff.

Job Duties

PSR Techs provide individual and group activities during the day, evening and weekend shifts to ensure that patients are provided with a rich and diverse offering of engagement experiences and, under the direction of the PSR Director, ensures that these activities are coordinated with other elements of treatment. PSR Techs support the general milieu by providing supplies and materials for on-unit engagement and prepare and deliver sensory and activity boxes to support coping.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of human growth, child development, and the family system.
• Knowledge of positive behavior management and behavior motivation techniques.
• Specialized knowledge in principles and techniques of group facilitation, fostering positive intrapersonal relationships, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to assess, plan, conduct, and document active treatment interventions for children and adolescents using multi-modal techniques, and ability to adapt activities and interventions to varying patient needs.
• Ability to evaluate and report children's progress to other clinical team members including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, and direct care staff.

Additional Considerations

• Related certification and/or license in respective specialty, or QMHP-C, preferred.
• Training or experience working with children and adolescents and/or psychiatric patients preferred.
