Next Breath Psychology is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Testing Technician to join our growing clinical team. This role is essential in supporting psychological and neuropsychological assessments by administering standardized testing, accurately collecting data, and assisting with report preparation. The Testing Technician works collaboratively with licensed psychologist/s and provides professional, compassionate support to clients throughout the testing process.
This position is ideal for individuals pursuing advanced training or long-term careers in psychology or mental health services.
- Status: Part-time; 2–3 days per week, up to 25 hours weekly
- Compensation: $20–$25 per hour (based on experience)
- Growth Opportunity: Potential transition to full-time after 6 months
Responsibilities
Assessment & Testing
- Administer standardized psychological, neuropsychological, and educational assessments under the supervision of a licensed psychologist
- Ensure adherence to testing protocols, ethical standards, HIPAA compliance, and confidentiality requirements.
- Observe and document behavioral and qualitative data during testing sessions
Data Management & Reporting Support
- Compile, organize, and summarize testing data for clinician review
- Assist with drafting sections of psychological reports as appropriate
- Maintain secure and organized testing records and materials
Client Support & Professional Conduct
- Provide clear instructions and supportive guidance to clients during testing
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, families, and team members
- Offer constructive feedback to supervising clinicians regarding testing observations
- Maintain testing supplies, digital platforms, and assessment materials
- Ensure proper storage and security of testing instruments
Qualifications
- Ability to pass a background check
- Willingness to complete Psychometrist Certification within two-years of hire
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior experience with psychological or neuropsychological testing
- Familiarity with standardized assessment tools (e.g., cognitive, academic, or personality measures)
- Experience working in a clinical, medical, or mental health setting
- Interest in pursuing graduate training in psychology or related fields
