Ellie Mental Health – Alexandria is seeking a Resident in Psychology to join our clinician‑focused private practice in Old Town Alexandria. This role is designed for post‑doctoral candidates who have completed or are close to completing their PhD or PsyD.

It provides supervision hours toward Virginia licensure in a supportive setting. Our team offers private offices, admin support, and state‑of‑the‑art technology to facilitate high‑quality, evidence‑based psychotherapy with diverse clients,

Qualifications

• Completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant psychology field from an accredited university.
• Eligibility for registration as a Resident in Psychology with the Virginia Board of Psychology.
• Experience in completing psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to document services timely.
• Comfort working with a diverse client base; collaborative team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate mental health diagnoses and create/update treatment plans with ongoing documentation.
• Provide high‑quality psychotherapy and collaborate with a dynamic team to serve the community.
• Utilize creative interventions to help clients achieve goals.
• Submit session documentation per guidelines; maintain caseload requirements as applicable.
• Coordinate services with case managers, families, school staff, and other Ellie staff.
• Attend clinical staff meetings and trainings.
