Job description

Join to apply for the Psychologist - Remote role at Loyal Source Government Services.

This role involves performing Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans filing disability claims related to mental health conditions such as PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. The examinations include mental health assessments and medical opinions, with no treatment provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct standard outpatient assessments and evaluations.
• Request psychological/neuropsychological testing services.
• Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and training sessions.
• Enter determinations within VA guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for testing.

Specific Duties

• Perform comprehensive mental health examinations for conditions such as PTSD, Depression, MST, Anxiety, and Eating Disorders.
• Write medical opinions as a mental health claims expert.
• Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and VA rules.
• Note: C&P mental health exams are one-time assessments without treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed doctoral-level Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) with current, unrestricted license.
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
• Dedicated secure workspace and high-speed internet access at home.
• Graduated from an APA-accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C&P exams, managed care, peer reviews, and various insurance lines.
• Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) or ASPPB Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ).
• Experience with CPT/HCPCS codes, higher levels of care, pediatric and substance abuse clinical experience, Evidence-Based Treatment, advanced computer skills, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills.

Pay: $55/hr.
