Psychologist (Remote)

The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans when they file disability claims for mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, Depression, Anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. These comprehensive mental health exams involve assessments and medical opinions but do not include treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient assessments and evaluations.
• Manage psychological/neuropsychological testing requests.
• Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and training sessions.
• Enter determinations within VA guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.
• Conduct non-MD clinical reviews, including requests for testing.

Specific Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive mental health examinations for conditions such as PTSD, Depression, MST, Anxiety, Eating Disorders.
• Write medical opinions for mental health claims as a subject matter expert.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA regulations.
• Note: C&P mental health exams are one-time, no-treatment assessments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed doctoral-level Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.), current license, unrestricted, allowing independent practice.
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel.
• Dedicated secure workspace with high-speed internet access.
• Graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C&P exams (training provided).
• Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
• Certification from ASPPB (CPQ).
• Experience in managed care, peer reviews, and billing codes (CPT, HCPCS).
• Clinical experience with children, adolescents, substance abuse, and evidence-based treatments.
• Advanced computer skills, organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments.

Pay: $70.32 + $4.93 H&W per hour.
