Job summary

The Illinois Department of Human Services is seeking a Psychologist 2 for the Shapiro Center in Kankakee, IL to provide intensive psychotherapy and in-depth counseling to residents. Develops and executes treatment plans and documents progress as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.

Essential duties include conducting admissions assessments, periodic evaluations, staff training, and supporting behavioral modification and skill development within a collaborative care environment.

Qualifications

• Requires doctoral degree in psychology and/or master's with professional experience.
• Equivalent education/experience substitutions may apply as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides intensive psychotherapy and in-depth counseling to individuals at Shapiro Center.
• Contributes to the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team by sharing progress information.
• Scores and interprets psychological evaluations for assigned caseload.
• Completes psychological assessments at admission and at five-year intervals or as indicated.
• Prepares reports, forms and correspondence in a timely manner.
• Provides training to direct care and professional staff on behavioral modification and skill development.
• Performs other duties as required within the scope of duties.
