Job summary

The State of Illinois seeks a Psychologist II for the Shapiro Center in Kankakee to provide intensive psychotherapy and counseling. You will develop and execute treatment plans, document progress, and serve on the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team as a resource for less experienced psychologists.

As a union position within the Department of Human Services, the role requires strong clinical skills, adherence to timelines, and collaboration with diverse professionals to support residents’

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in psychology or Master’s degree in psychology with 4 years of qualifying professional psychology experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides intensive psychotherapy and in-depth counseling to individuals.
• Serves on Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and communicates progress.
• Scores and interprets objective and projective psychological evaluations.
• Conducts psychological assessment upon admission and periodically thereafter.
• Completes required reports, schedules, and forms in a timely manner.
• Provides training to staff on behavioral modification and skill development.
