Short Summary:

Psychologists evaluate, diagnose, and treat people with mental, emotional, behavioral, educational, and developmental disorders. We are seeking a Psychologist to support our patients' well-being. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, gathering history, diagnosing issues using tests, and developing treatment plans. The Psychologist will interview patients and perform diagnostic tests to understand their mental health issues.

Ultimately, you will provide individual treatment options to help people better understand themselves and assist others in changing behaviors and alleviating problems. This role incorporates current mental health and addiction care standards in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and patient care standards. The clinical director also oversees budget, quality, cost, and service excellence, supervises human resources, and ensures high-quality care and service.

All duties are to be performed confidentially, in line with Insight Chicago Medical Center's mission, values, and behaviors. Employees are expected to provide high-quality care, service, and kindness to patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and guests.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose or evaluate mental and emotional disorders and administer treatment programs; interview patients in various settings and review medical and social histories.
  2. Observe patients, administer and interpret psychological tests, diagnose disorders, and consult with other mental health professionals on test results.
  3. Treat psychological disorders with appropriate techniques; plan therapy sessions and determine frequency and duration.
  4. Assess patient progress, modify treatment plans, and communicate with and counsel family members as needed.
  5. Document therapy in medical records, ensuring confidentiality.
  6. Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  7. Participate in professional development activities such as educational programs and workshops.
  8. Instruct and supervise students in psychological internships.
  9. Offer psychological consultations to other mental health professionals and agencies.
  10. Develop and implement clinical research programs if applicable.
  11. May serve as Campus Security Authority per the Clery Act.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Psychology, completion of Pre-doctoral Internship, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Must hold or be eligible for NM licensure as a Psychologist.
  • Degrees from accredited institutions above the minimum requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge of current special education methodologies, accreditation standards, crisis intervention techniques, and psychological testing.
  • Ability to assess, record symptoms, communicate effectively, evaluate progress, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Skills in diagnosis, treatment planning, and maintaining patient records.
  • Must maintain emotional stability to handle stressful situations.
  • Position involves diagnosing, evaluating, administering tests, developing treatment plans, and maintaining records.
