Job summary

Rowan University’s RISN Center in Sewell, NJ, seeks a compassionate Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary team serving individuals with complex intellectual, developmental, physical, and behavioral health needs. Direct patient care, teaching, and collaborative research are core to this role.

You will work with physicians, psychologists, and other health professionals to provide high-quality psychiatric care, teach medical students, and participate in periodic on-call coverage

Qualifications

• Experience working with patients with intellectual and physical disabilities, complex medical needs, traumatic brain injury, or lifespan care preferred.
• Advanced nursing degree with a concentration in psychiatric medicine.
• CDS license.
• DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate accessible patient care focusing on quality and value-based care.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team including physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses and other health care professionals.
• Prescribe or recommend drugs or other treatments for psychiatric care as appropriate.
• Provide consultation to clinical staff regarding patient care.
• Teach medical students and residents in clinical skills development while seeing patients.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule and ensure timely clinical response and follow-up.
