Job summary

Heading Health in San Antonio, TX is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant with interest in psychiatry to join our patient-centered team.

You will support psychiatrists, take vitals, manage medical histories, and handle scheduling, referrals, and insurance verification. Saturday work is part of the regular schedule. Competitive pay and benefits are offered based on experience.

Qualifications

CMA or RMA certification is mandatory.
Experience or interest in psychiatry is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient care.

Responsibilities

Assist psychiatrists and other mental health providers with patient care.
Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vitals and updating medical histories.
Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and medication management.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records using AMD.
Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and mental health resources.
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, answering phones, and verifying insurance.
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for psychiatric patients.
Work on Saturdays as part of a regular schedule.
