Job summary

SENTA Partners in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical duties under physician supervision. You will schedule appointments, maintain medical records, and assist with patient care, vitals, and injections.

The role includes medication reconciliation, lab specimen handling, and patient prep, with emphasis on accurate documentation in the EMR. Competitive hourly pay offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred (required where applicable).
• CPR Certification preferred; BLS may be required in some states.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with patients.
• Accompanies and settles patients in the exam room before the physician visit.
• Takes vitals and records them in the EMR.
• Obtains medication lists and verifies allergies at visits.
• Performs basic in-office tests as directed and documents results.
• Updates patient surgical history and records.
• Draws blood and labels specimens for labs.
• Administers intramuscular injections and documents completion.
• Directs patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Cleans and prepares exam rooms for next patient.
• Handles nursing line messages and prescribes calls per physician.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and maintains a safe environment.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant Certification

CPR Certification (BLS where required)
