Job summary

MEDIKO is seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive mental health care to patients in a correctional setting. You will conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care.

The role requires an active state license, DEA registration, and experience in correctional health or underserved populations. Onsite work is 18 hours per week; competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active, valid state medical license
• Current DEA registration, if applicable
• Minimum of 3–5 years clinical practice, with 1–2 years in correctional healthcare or underserved populations preferred
• Board certification in a relevant specialty is preferred
• CPR/BLS certification is expected for clinical practice

Job Summary:

The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients in a correctional setting, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for individuals with mental health disorders. This role will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure integrated, evidence-based care. The Psychiatrist will also maintain accurate medical records, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support the overall mental health program within the facility.

Qualifications:

• A current, valid, and unrestricted state license
• For advanced clinical roles, completion of an accredited graduate or professional program (e.g., medical school, dental school, nurse practitioner program, etc.) is required.
• A current, valid DEA registration, if applicable.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty is preferred, if applicable.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical practice, with at least 1-2 years in a correctional healthcare or underserved population setting preferred.
• Experience in diagnosis, treatment planning, and providing healthcare services in a managed care or correctional facility setting is highly preferred.
• Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).
