Job summary

The Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston is seeking an M.D. Psychiatrist to provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. This role leads treatment teams and coordinates with primary care and external providers to deliver high-quality mental health care.

Physicians will perform admissions, develop treatment plans, oversee medical evaluations and medications, and participate in emergency responses. Board certification in Psychiatry is required or eligible.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, treatment, and medical conditions impacting patients.
• Knowledge of psychotherapy, side effects, risks, and benefits.
• Knowledge of guidelines regarding prescribing practices.
• Knowledge of legal liabilities and standards governing psychiatric care.

Responsibilities

• Performs admission and diagnostic evaluations to assess mental status.
• Provides ongoing assessments and treatment progress.
• Leads treatment teams and coordinates with providers.
• Maintains treatment plans and required paperwork.
• Administers evaluations, medications, and psychiatric counseling.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in safety planning.
