Job summary

Merakey is seeking a hybrid part-time Psychiatrist to support the Long Term Structured Residence (LTSR) program at Russellton, PA and Beaver Falls, PA locations. The role combines telehealth and on-site visits (20 hours/week, minimum one visit per location per month) with leadership for psychiatric assessment and medication management.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania license.
• Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, including clinical and clerical staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
• Develop, review, and approve individualized treatment plans as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Provide ongoing psychiatric care, including assessment of mental status, symptom management, and risk factors.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with nursing, therapy, case management, and direct care staff.
• Respond to psychiatric crises and determine the need for emergency interventions or higher levels of care, including hospitalization when indicated.
• Ensure psychiatric services are delivered in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Human Services regulations and professional standards of care.
• Support resident recovery, rehabilitation, and transition planning to the least restrictive community‑based setting possible
• Participate in commitment hearings

The Psychiatrist provides leadership for psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, and clinical decision‑making within the Long Term Structured Residence (LTSR). The Psychiatrist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure residents receive comprehensive, recovery-oriented behavioral health services that promote stability, independence, and successful community integration.

Duties include:

• Developing, reviewing, and approving individualized treatment plans as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
