Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a physician in psychiatry to treat Veterans with broad-spectrum psychiatric disorders and to participate in tele-mental health services as needed. The incumbent will document care in CPRS, coordinate with community MH programs, and adhere to VA infection control standards.

EDRP education debt reduction is available; competitive rewards apply. Applicants must have an MD, complete psychiatry residency, and hold an active US license to practice.

Qualifications

• MD degree with full, valid license to practice medicine.
• Residency in general psychiatry completed and board-eligible or board-certified.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; communication skills.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment for beneficiaries with general psychiatric disorders in various settings.
• Utilize Tele-Mental Health as patient needs dictate.
• Document patient care in CPRS and maintain accurate medical records.
• Coordinate discharge planning with approved community MH programs and ambulatory care services.
• Adhere to VA infection control and safety guidelines; participate in team meetings.
