Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a board-certified or eligible psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership within the Mental Health & Behavioral Medicine Service. You will work with veterans in Texas, delivering high-quality psychiatric care and program oversight.

You will perform psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and participate in crisis intervention while supervising residents and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from a school approved for VA medical education.
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Board certification in Psychiatry preferred for faculty eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations across clinical settings for veterans.
• Deliver comprehensive treatment including medication management and crisis intervention.
• Supervise psychiatry residents, fellows, and trainees as appropriate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.
