MHC Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in Memphis. The role involves evaluating and diagnosing patients, prescribing medications, and facilitating hospital admissions as needed.

The position is primarily on-site with a hybrid structure considered. The compensation is above $300K for a 37.5-hour work week, with a comprehensive benefits package and relocation reimbursement.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services across the agency. You will evaluate and diagnose individuals who are experiencing a psychiatric emergent/urgent or routine condition in an outpatient setting, face-to-face and/or by telehealth. You will determine pharmacological treatment for patients as well as facilitate admitting patients to the hospital or respite as needed.

Location & Schedule

Memphis Clinic (3430 Summer Ave). Mostly on-site with hybrid structures considered. Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm with no on‑call responsibilities.

Compensation

Above $300K for a 37.5‑hour work week for the right candidate, plus a generous benefits policy, no state income tax, and below average cost of living. Relocation reimbursement is offered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose patients with psychiatric emergencies, urgencies, or routine conditions in an outpatient setting via face‑to‑face and/or telehealth.
• Prescribe medications using InfoScriber and provide follow‑up on pharmacological treatment.
• Facilitate admission of patients to the hospital or respite, and consult with MCRT as needed.
• Supervise Nurse Practitioner and/or residents as assigned.
• Coordinate medical aspects of treatment with Nurse, Care Management Supervisor, and Care Managers.
• Participate in and provide supervision of multidisciplinary treatment team meetings; offer phone consultation when required.
• Maintain an active role in the treatment plan, including patient follow‑up.
• Consult with outside physicians regarding care‑managed consumers and assist with communication to the PCP.

Requirements

• Tennessee licensed psychiatrist, board eligible or board certified.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license.
• Acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR).
• Acceptable criminal background investigation.
• Liability insurance for personal automobile.

Qualifications & Experience

• Collaborative spirit to coordinate medical treatments with nurses and care managers.
• Deep knowledge of therapeutic interventions—including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation and management, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and overall care of patients with psychiatric disorders.
• Leadership ability to lead others toward excellence in care.
• Ability to maintain an active role in treatment planning and patient follow‑up.
• Strong relationship‑building skills to cultivate trust with teams, physicians, and consumers.
