Job summary

Hillcrest Children & Family Center in Washington, DC seeks a board-certified Psychiatrist to provide clinical consultation across behavioral health programs, drive strategy, and ensure adherence to medical standards while educating practitioners and staff.

You will supervise nursing staff, develop and evaluate clinical methods, review treatment plans for medical necessity, and collaborate with the Clinical Director and administrator to improve integrated care and health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Must be Board Certified in Psychiatry with an active, unrestricted license in District of Columbia.
  • Must have valid DEA license and District of Columbia Controlled Substance registration.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or administrative role within a behavioral health setting.
  • Program development experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Psychiatric Services, Medication Evaluations, Psychiatric Evaluations, and other Assessments as indicated.
  • Supervise and champion the nursing staff
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate staff (psychiatrist, NPs, and nurses) clinical methods to ensure effective and efficient use of staff, facilities, equipment, and other resources while maintaining patient care standards; revise policies as needed.
  • Average 8 billable encounters/hours per week of 24 weekly hours. 16 hours assigned duties as Medical Director
  • Oversee Medical Department through Peer Review, P&T committee (Pharmaceutical & Therapeutics, policy and practice developments, and others aspects of Integrated care as assigned.
  • Work in collaboration with the Clinical Director, CEO, COO, and Practice Administrator to close gaps and move to improve healthcare integration and health outcomes for clients based upon primary care and behavioral health care integrated systems best practice and industry standards.
  • Review and sign treatment plans and other documents affirming medical necessity in accordance with MCO's, Commercial Insurance, DBH, and Medicaid/Medicare regulations and certification standards.
  • Exercise best practice methods in the delivery of psychiatric care and medication management.
  • Meet service and documentation standards.

Job description

The Psychiatrist works closely with all divisions and departments to provide clinical consultation and support regarding behavioral health program strategy and development, compliance with accepted medical standards, and practitioner/provider education. The Psychiatrist will diagnose and treat patients in the adult, child, and adolescent services, develop and foster team partnerships, and collaborate with case management and the multidisciplinary team of health care professionals.

Other Requirements
  • Must be on-site 3-4 days per week, including participation in mandatory department meetings and committee sessions.
  • Contractor is responsible for maintaining their own liability insurance
  • Must have an active, attested CAQH profile
Salary Range

$210-$225 - Per Hour
