Position Overview

We are hiring a Credentialed Psychiatrist to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges throughout North Carolina. The role involves psychiatric and medical assessment, treatment, clinical supervision, education, and training for RHA Behavioral Health staff, and requires developing, implementing, and supervising medication and treatment policies while integrating psychiatric services into overall client care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments and provide individualized treatment plans.
• Supervise medication, psychiatric, and medical treatment policies and procedures.
• Provide clinical supervision, education, and training to RHA Behavioral Health staff.
• Collaborate with treatment team members and external health care professionals to ensure integrated care.
• Work independently with limited supervision, applying experience and judgment to deliver high‑quality services.

Qualifications

• Completion of an MD residency in Psychiatry.
• Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry and licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance (condition of employment).
• Certification in CPR, first aid, and NCI (or other required certifications) as specified by policy.
• Proficiency in company‑sponsored training, certifications, and privileging as required.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment screening, including criminal background check, drug testing, educational verification, and employment history review.
