Job summary

STR Behavioral Health is opening a new PHP/IOP location in Chester County, PA. The role focuses on ensuring client health and safety, evaluating psychiatric needs, and prescribing medications within a collaborative clinical team.

The physician will consult with the treatment team on primary and co-occurring diagnoses, approve admissions based on medical and psychiatric criteria, and provide guidance to clinicians on treatment plans and care strategies.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 3 years of residency in psychiatry.
• Active Pennsylvania medical license.
• Willingness to take after-hours calls and perform duties with clinical autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients.
• Assess and prescribe appropriate medications as needed.
• Conduct routine psychiatric evaluations and monitor client conditions.
• Document medical and psychiatric treatments and recommendations.
• Oversee and collaborate with Clinicians on treatment plans.
• Pre-screen admissions by reviewing psych and medical records.
• Participate in Clinical Treatment team meetings 2x a month.

This position also assesses medical and psychiatric issues and concerns then address or make appropriate referrals. This position also approves potential admissions based on medical and psychiatric requirements. Active calid licensed practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania. Willingness to work with a clinical to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients. Willingness to take calls during after hour day and times. Additionally, complete other tasks and duties appropriate to the position and/ or as assigned.
