Job summary

STR Behavioral Health Bethlehem is seeking a PA/CRNP to ensure the health and safety of clients, perform psychiatric and medical assessments, and prescribe detoxification regimens as part of a comprehensive treatment team.

The role requires PA/CRNP certification in PA, at least 2 years in detox/residential settings, and strong communication skills to collaborate with clinicians and staff. This onsite position offers full clinical responsibilities and patient care continuity.

Qualifications

  • Certified PA/CRNP licensed in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Detoxification and/or Residential setting experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, secure environment for clients.
  • Prescribe detoxification medications with safety and efficacy.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications; conduct routine checkups and medication checks.
  • Complete psychiatric evaluations and physicals for admissions.
  • Order labs and urine analyses as needed; coordinate referrals to specialists.

Work location: Onsite in Bethlehem, PASchedule: 32 hours per weekWho We AreSTR Behavioral Health – Lehigh Valley is a premier substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorder outpatient program with a new location coming to Lehigh Valley, PA. For both substance use disorder and mental health clients, we will offer separate programs for each population. Our programs will include partial hospitalization treatment, intensive outpatient treatment (day and night programs), and outpatient care, all with the support of a psychiatric provider, licensed clinicians, and experienced professionals. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options as well as psychiatric medication management will be offered at all levels of care. Our programs are trauma-informed, individualized, and accredited by the Human Rights Campaign as a leader in providing LGBTQ+ services. This position assesses and prescribes appropriate medications as well as assess medical and psychiatric issues/ concerns and makes appropriate referrals. This position consults with the treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues.Relationships and ContactsWithin the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout STR Behavioral Health and affiliated facilities.Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.Position ResponsibilitiesMaintaining a safe and secure environmentHelp Clients by providing information, services, and assistancePrescribe Detoxification medication regimens that are safe, appropriate, and effective for clients with substance use disorderRoutine checkups and Medication checks for clients in servicesConducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.Prescribe medications as necessary and check on the efficacy of medication regimenDocument clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendationsPre-screen and approve potential clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admissionOrder Lab work and UAs as neededComplete Psychiatric Evaluations for every admitting clientComplete physical for every admitting clientMake referrals to specialist as neededOrder and administer Vivitrol as neededConsult with the treatment teamComplete progress notes as neededSupport Nursing staff.Minimum RequirementsEducation and ExperienceCertified in the state of Pennsylvania as a CRNP or Physician’s Assistant. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Detoxification and/or Residential Setting, preferably in substance abuse or mental health. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to work with a clinical team to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients.
