Job summary

Ravenwood Health in Ohio seeks a full-time Psychiatrist to join our expanding program after a merger. You will provide clinical care, conduct psychiatric assessments, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for Ravenwood clients.

The role requires an Ohio license and completion of psychiatric residency, with at least one year post-training experience. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to HIPAA are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current valid license to practice Medicine in the State of Ohio.
  • Completion of a formal residency program in psychiatry.
  • One year of post-training experience in treating persons with mental disorders.
  • License verification and practice within licensure scope.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans.
  • Monitor patients and adjust medications as needed.
  • Maintain detailed clinical notes and productivity.
  • Coordinate with the treatment team and attend relevant meetings.
  • Provide supervision to assigned staff and participate in QA/PI activities.

Summary/Objective

Provides clinical care to Ravenwood clients including psychiatric assessment and ongoing psychiatric treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produces quality initial evaluations and comprehensive and accurate diagnostic formulations.
  • Produces reasonable and well-thought-out plan of treatment with consideration given to the bio-psycho-social components of the illness and treatment.
  • Establishes appropriate time frame for follow-up based on the severity of the disease and the client’s status.
  • Provides patients with adequate information about diagnosis and medication(s) permitting the patient to make an informed decision about compliance with recommended treatment plan.
  • Monitors blood levels of mood stabilizers, nortiptyline, antipsychotics, as well as other pertinent laboratory indices such as renal status, liver status, cardiac status and other lab values as indicated by the treatment modality utilized.
  • Maintains notes which detail clinical status, response to medication/treatment plan and outlines future treatment recommendation.
  • Maintains assigned productivity level (billable service/clinical time).
  • Provides supervision to assigned staff.
  • Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement.
  • Regularly attends treatment team meetings, coordinating treatment and providing leadership in order to facilitate the ongoing psychiatric care of his/her clients
  • Attends Medical Department meetings.
  • Makes arrangements to be available when not at the agency for emergency consultation and recommendation regarding the care of his/her patients and is willing to participate in cross coverage for physicians on vacation/away from the office, etc.
  • Employee demonstrates strong communications skills by returning and responding to phone calls or emails within 24 hours and other correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to HIPAA/confidentiality standards.
  • Understands and adheres to agency policies and procedures

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently
  • Ability to engage clients and establish ongoing relationships
  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel. and the agencies ECR, CareLogic.
  • Ability to collaborate/coordinate with interagency disciplines and outside agencies as needed.
  • Effectively work in a team and maintain respect for clients and staff.
Required Education And Experience
  • Current valid license to practice Medicine in the State of Ohio.
  • Completion of a formal residency program in psychiatry.
  • One year of post-training experience in treating persons with mental disorders.
  • Employee shall maintain current licensure by the appropriate body in the state of Ohio and shall practice only within the scope of their licensure.
  • All employees who provide mental health services shall be qualified to provide those services according to Chapter 5122-23 of the administrative code.
  • Clinical services can be only provided by staff members who have their license verified and have been approved by the Competency Assessment Committee and/or are privileged by the Board of Directors, or who are working under the supervision of a staff member whose competency has been approved and/or they are a privileged staff member.
