Job Description and Duties

METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL – Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County.

This advertisement is posted as until filled. Applications will be reviewed on the 1st and 15th of each month, and selections can be made; however, the Job Control will remain open until the vacancy is filled.

Under the direction of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN)/Director of Staff Development (DSD), the Psychiatric Technician Instructor will provide training and supervision to Psychiatric Technician Assistants and Psychiatric Technician Students in a training course designed to prepare them as Psychiatric Technicians.

Responsibilities include training all disciplines in Therapeutic Strategies and Interventions (TSI), conducting non‑medical/surgical nursing classes, providing hospital orientation for affiliated schools and colleges, conducting CPR classes, and conducting emergency drills on the patient care units.

Note: Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
