Job summary

California Department of State Hospitals is seeking a Psychiatric Technician Assistant (Safety) for the Metropolitan campus in Los Angeles County. The position is a 12-month limited-term, full-time role located in-office and supervised by a Registered Nurse Shift Lead/Supervising RN.

Job Description And Duties

Position is Limited-Term for 12 months. This position may be terminated at any time or may become Permanent at a later date. Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the City of Norwalk. Under general supervision of the Registered Nurse Shift Lead / Supervising Registered Nurse. The Psychiatric Technician Assistant assists licensed staff in carrying out activity and training programs for clients/patients. Part of the Interdisciplinary Team fulfilling and demonstrating basic nursing care.

Training Expectations

If selected, it is mandatory that you attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) in its entirety. NEO can be scheduled Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. for up to 30 days for level of care staff (clinical).

Candidates must be willing to work in any Unit/Program and any Shift to meet the needs of the facility.

Minimum Qualifications

Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade and a valid CA CNA license.
