Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks a part-time Psychiatric Technician for a fully in-person role on the acute psychiatric unit. You will assist with patient care, support daily living activities, and coordinate group sessions while reporting observations to licensed staff.

Responsibilities include admissions/discharges in EMR, leading goals/wrap up groups, and managing safety during crises. Must complete de-escalation training and obtain BLS-HCP certification soon after hire.

Qualifications

• De-escalation training must be completed within 4 months of hire.
• AHA BLS-HCP certification must be obtained.
• Virginia driver's license required to transport patients.
• Ability to manage patients with explosive potential or escalating situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with observing patients and report unusual circumstances.
• Organize, prioritize and provide nursing care per unit standards.
• Lead daily goals/wrap up groups and participate in code security activities.
• Complete admission/discharge documentation in chart/EMR.
• Respond to call lights promptly and meet patient needs.
• Participate in Quality Management and performance improvement activities.
• Contribute to a safe, efficient unit environment.
