Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic nursing care and support to patients on the 10 West unit. The role includes assisting with daily activities, vital signs, and EMR documentation, with orientation classes required 8 am–5 pm for the first two weeks.

The position is full-time with day/evening/night shifts and every other weekend/rotating holidays. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates meeting guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must attend orientation classes daytime 8 am–5 pm for the first 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing care and performs age-appropriate technical skills per established standards.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, meals, toileting, ambulation).
• Documents and reports patient observations to licensed staff.
• Transports patients, supplies, and equipment within the facility.
• Participates in unit quality improvement and governance activities.
