Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a part-/full-time RN to support patient care in Behavioral Health nursing units. The role involves floating to other units as needed, with a base rate starting at $36.90/hour plus evening and weekend differentials.

24–32 hours per week (0.6–0.8 FTE) and every other weekend required. The RN will provide developmentally appropriate care, supervise care delivery, and maintain documentation according to standards while pursuing BSN

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by manager.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs and communicates care priorities to LPNs, PCAs, Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health staff.
• Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Engages in workplace communications, participates in data collection or auditing, and reports updates to staff.

FTE Available: 0.6- 0.8, 24-32 hours/week, (every other weekend required)

Rate: Starts at $36.90/hour with potential for higher pay based on relevant exp., additional $5.00 differential for evenings and additional $5.00 on weekends.

• Expected to float to other Behavioral Health nursing units as needed at the direction of leadership.

Essential Functions

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs. Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
• Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
• Engages in the "workplace community" by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
• Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

Education Requirement

BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire, required.

Licensure Requirement

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

Certifications
