Job summary

Raleigh Oaks Behavioral Health in Garner, North Carolina, is seeking a Registered Nurse (PRN) to join our clinical team. This on-site role supports patients with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, two shifts per month.

The RN provides nursing care, supervises LPNs/CNAs, develops care plans, administers medications, documents, and communicates with the interdisciplinary team. Experience in behavioral health and psychotropic meds is preferred; CPR and de-escalation training required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• 1+ year nursing experience in clinical or behavioral health settings preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards in an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess and coordinate patient care, develop care plans, and educate patients and families.
• Administer medications with two identifiers and document accurately.
• Obtain provider orders and transcribe per policy.
• Monitor patient status and escalate changes to supervisors/physicians.
• Provide hand-off reports and participate in unit activities.
