Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Broussard is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead milieu management and direct patient care for adults and seniors facing anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.

You will provide safe medication delivery, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team under Joint Commission and state guidance to promote wellness and recovery.

Qualifications

• Maintains standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policy and procedures, other external governing and credentialing bodies, performance improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identifies risk levels and discharge planning; prescribes interventions.
• Demonstrates knowledge of psychiatric disorders and implements nursing interventions.
• Administers medications as prescribed safely; educates on prescribed medications.
• Reviews and updates medical records; documents care and progress.
• Follows up on client care needs and communicates with staff.
• Assists with staff assignments and advocates for patient safety.
• Utilizes nursing resources to enhance evidence-based practice.
• Float among clinical services and perform assigned duties.
