Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills, Michigan, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate psychiatric nursing care for children, adolescents and adults. You will use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate care, while monitoring medications and ensuring safety and crisis intervention when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current status as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan required.
• One year of nursing experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
• Current certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
• Current certification in BLS/CPR preferred.
• Employees must be in good standing to be considered for internal transfers.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care for psychiatric patients using the nursing process.
• Assesses mental health needs, develops diagnoses, and plans and evaluates care.
• Monitors effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician.
• Ensures safety and provides milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
• Participates in development and implementation of department policies and procedures.
• Maintains updated individualized care plans and treatment goals with the team.
