Job summary

Peak View Behavioral Health in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide nursing care on the designated unit. The role includes supervising LPNs/CNAs, developing care plans, and ensuring patient safety. Base pay is $40–$45 per hour with full-time day and night shifts (7:00–7:00).

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• 1+ years nursing experience in clinical area preferred.
• Behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery experience preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards in an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess and coordinate patient care; develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Assess patient status and communicate findings to providers.
• Transcribe and review orders; ensure all elements are correct.
• Administer medications with two patient identifiers.
• Notify providers of significant changes in status or emergencies.
• Document effects of PRN medications; ensure medication safety.
• Complete admission and discharge procedures accurately.
• Collaborate with treatment team; participate in unit activities.
• Educate patients and families about medications and rights.
