Job summary

Acadia Healthcare in Knoxville is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a 13-week short-term contract on a full-time night shift (12-hour shifts). The role offers a flat $60 per hour, with potential conversion after the contract period and separate conversion bonuses for day and night shifts.

Temporary assignment with no travel stipends provided. Opportunities for conversion to a permanent role at East Tennessee Behavioral Health as the facility grows.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license valid as required by state of employment.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Provide nursing care within standards and scope of nursing practice.
• Ensure physicians' orders are legible and transcribed correctly.
• Assess patient status continuously and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status including detox challenges.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Demonstrate professional rapport and maintain boundaries with patients.
• Coordinate unit activities as directed.
• Communicate therapeutically with patients, visitors, and staff.
