Qualifications

• Active RN license
• At least one year of recent psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience
• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies
• Ability to perform thorough mental health assessments
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• BLS certification required; additional psychiatric certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other care team members
• Offer education and emotional support to patients and their families
• Employ therapeutic communication and maintain a safe, structured environment; accurately document care and progress per standards
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and treatment planning discussions
