Job summary

Horizon House, Inc. seeks a Full-Time Psychiatric Nurse Supervisor to lead RTFA nursing staff and coordinate behavioral and physical health care for program participants. You will supervise LPNs and RNs, maintain records, and support treatment planning under the Director’s guidance.

The role requires PA RN licensure, experience in mental health settings, and strong communication skills. On-site work with on-call responsibilities is expected, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise RTFA nursing staff (LPN/RN) and coordinate program participants' care.

• Monitor participant medications; assist psychiatrist with prior authorizations.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Psychiatric Nurse Supervisor in our Behavioral Health Services division, RTFA. Assist team members in coordinating program participants' behavioral and physical health care needs. Supervise LPN/RN nursing staff. Receives general direction from the Director. Provide supervision to RTFA nursing staff.

Other Responsibilities but not all-inclusive:

• Maintain a record of medical and behavioral health history and ongoing medical and treatment records. Review all charts at least once per week to ensure medical needs have been met and documentation meets applicable standards.
• Attend team meetings regularly to review medications, emergency intervention plans, and response to treatment, and to review health care needs, the participant's response to treatment, and coordinate scheduling appointments.
• Monitor the participant's medication. Verify insurance coverage by calling appropriate insurance companies and pharmacies as needed. Assist the psychiatrist in completing prior authorizations if needed.
• Consult with and assist team members regarding development and implementation of the health care needs and goals as indicated on the individual recovery plan.
• Maintain nursing schedules for RTFA programs. Ensure nursing coverage is provided as indicated in the program description.
• Provide direct supervision to LPN and RN staff at RTFA programs. Delegate work assignments as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
• Prior experience working in community mental health and/or substance abuse treatment settings.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.ialt

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Good written and computer skills are required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytic skills required.

• Must be available for scheduled emergency on-call service.

• Scheduling flexibility and possible on-call work are necessary.
• May require crisis intervention in emergency situations, including managing aggression.
