Job summary

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join the Psychiatric Access Team in Colorado. Responsibilities include providing telehealth and in-person care, conducting medication evaluations, and offering support and mentorship.

Position Type: 1 Fte (Full-Time), 40hrs/wk, benefited.

Education Level: MSN - Master of Science in Nursing.

Salary Range: $122,595.20 – $156,145.60 per year.

Shift: 1 Day Hybrid – 1 day Remote.

Position Overview

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) seeks a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join the Psychiatric Access Team (PAC). The role provides telehealth and in-person care, medication evaluations, ongoing support, and opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and crisis stabilization.

Essential Functions
  • Provide direct psychiatric services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient treatment.
  • Supervise clinicians in assigned services as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to evaluate and triage patients according to acuity.
  • Share 24‑hour on‑call responsibilities with other psychiatrists for residential, outpatient, and emergency care.
  • Maintain telephone availability for face‑to‑face evaluation of emergency patients.
  • Perform utilization review of patients in continuing care to ensure appropriate services.
  • Attend team and other meetings, as required.
  • Provide consultation on patient care and difficult cases.
  • Adhere to organizational quality, compliance, standards, and policies.
  • Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
  • Document patient care accurately and completely; provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. on time.
  • Coordinate care for assigned clients with other team members.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing with Prescriptive Authority.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry.
  • Active Colorado Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
  • Certified by the Colorado State Board of Nursing as an advanced practitioner.
  • Valid and current DEA registration.
  • Current pharmacology knowledge.
  • Ability to administer medications and injections.
  • Knowledge of diagnoses and theoretical issues related to clinical treatment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use an electronic health record.
  • Treatment philosophy consistent with managed‑care principles.
Required Vaccination and TB Test
