MEDIKO is a 30-year correctional healthcare company providing psychiatric care to incarcerated individuals at Bedford County Jail in Pennsylvania.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will perform mental health assessments, diagnose disorders, and manage treatment plans with psychotropic medications while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and continuity of care. On-call coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Current, valid PMHNP license in the state of Pennsylvania.
• DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances.
• Board certification in PMHNP (PMHNP-BC) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years NP experience with at least 2 years in psychiatric/behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and risk evaluations.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications per guidelines.
• Provide crisis intervention for acute psychiatric symptoms and safety planning.
• Collaborate with custody and medical teams to ensure integrated care and continuity of services.
• Document all patient encounters in the EMR accurately and timely.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality in all communications.
• Participate in on-call coverage as assigned and support quality improvement efforts.

Working within a correctional healthcare setting, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive mental health treatment and continuity of care.
