Job summary

Compass Health Center in Falls Church, Virginia seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our growing PHP/IOP programs. You will work on interdisciplinary teams, perform initial psychiatric evaluations, and develop medication plans, with a focus on crisis stabilization and individualized treatment.

Candidates must hold Virginia RN license, PMHNP certification (ANCC), DNP or MSN, prescriptive authority, DEA license, CPR certification, and at least 2 years prescribing experience, with prior

Qualifications

• Licensed or able to obtain license as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Virginia.
• ANCC National Board Certification in Psychiatry - PMHNP.
• Prescriptive Authority.
• DEA license.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
• DNP or MSN from an accredited nursing program.
• CPR certified.
• Experience with patients in crisis.
• 2+ years experience prescribing.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete initial psychiatric evaluation and determine diagnosis and plan of care including medication when indicated.
• Revise, prescribe, and implement therapeutic regimen with interdisciplinary approach.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate with treatment team.
• Document each patient encounter in a timely manner.
• Educate patient and family about condition and care aspects.
• Collaborate with team to ensure quality of care and appropriate services.
• Maintain continuing education and professional development activities.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team.
