UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse to support a 24-bed adult CDU unit. The role involves evening/night shifts with 12-hour rotations, nursing assessments, patient education, and coordinated care in a high-demand psychiatric setting.

Starting rates are $35.75 (GN) and $37.25 (BSN) with potential increases based on experience; sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is offered. Requires RN license, CPR, and relevant clearances.

Competenze

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Six months of experience in Clinical Psychiatry preferred.
• Physically capable of providing direct total patient care in a psychiatric setting.

Mansioni

• Perform nursing assessment and initial plan of care within 8 hours of admission.
• Educate patient regarding hospitalization and treatment.
• Document in medical records per policy and ensure accurate medication administration.
• Maintain knowledge of medication policies and side effects; monitor patient response.
• Demonstrate DSM-IV knowledge in interventions and crisis management.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams and unit-based training.
