Job summary

Kenosha Human Development Services is seeking a Psychiatric Prescribing Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner at Sunrise Clinic to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose conditions, and prescribe appropriate medications as a contracted position. The role supports a multidisciplinary team, emphasizes patient education, crisis intervention, and maintains detailed medical records.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing with active APNP credential.
• Actively enrolled in Psychiatric Certificate courses.
• Able to work with children and adults.
• Experience evaluating/treating adults with serious mental illness.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Spanish bilingualism a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Psychiatric Evaluations: psychiatric assessments, interviews, and mental status exams.
• Diagnose Mental Health Conditions: identify conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia.
• Prescribe Medications: develop treatment plans and monitor effects/side effects.
• Collaborate with Healthcare Team: work with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers.
• Patient Education: educate patients and families on conditions and meds.
• Maintain Patient Records: keep treatment plans, progress notes, medication logs.
• Crisis Intervention: provide crisis management for acute episodes.
• Quality Improvement: participate in quality initiatives and continuing education.
• Advocate for Patients: advocate within healthcare system and community.
