Job summary

Kenosha Human Development Services (KHDS) Sunrise Clinic seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber to provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnose conditions, and prescribe medications as part of a multidisciplinary team. This contractor role focuses on delivering evidence-based psychiatric care in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing with active APNP credential required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English is essential.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and patient interviews.
• Diagnose mental health conditions and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications and monitor effectiveness/side effects.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and other team members.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate medical records including treatment plans and progress notes.
• Provide crisis intervention for acute psychiatric episodes.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
• Advocate for patients within the healthcare system and community.
