Job description

Our client, a community hospital serving a culturally diverse area of New York City, is hiring a Psychiatrist, Medical Director of the Substance Use Disorders Services (SUD).

The SUD Services include Ambulatory Care Services with Medically Supervised Outpatient Program, ED LEADS, and opportunities to participate in new initiatives including Addiction Response Team (ART) Services.

Responsibilities:

1. Administration, planning, organization, and overall management of the SUD Services.
2. Join the Medical leadership team of Behavioral Health.
3. Participate in quality assurance and incident review management meetings.
4. Report to the Chief of Psychiatry.
5. Play an important role in resident education.
6. Full-time schedule.

Qualifications:

• MD/DO degree.
• Board-Certified Adult Psychiatrist with Addiction Psychiatry Board Certification.
• Valid New York State Medical License.
• DEA and Medicaid numbers.
• Strong clinical abilities, teaching experience, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Prior management/leadership experience, especially within academic medical centers or public health systems, is preferred.
