Medstaff is assisting with long-term Psychiatry coverage for an ICE detention center located northeast of Alexandria, LA.

Position Details

1. Qualifications: Board-certified in Psychiatry or a recent graduate preparing to sit for boards.
2. Licensing and Certification: Unrestricted Louisiana license, BLS certification, and at least one year of psychiatry experience.
3. Experience: Experience in detention, correctional, or residential settings is preferred but not mandatory.
4. Schedule: Coverage needed from Sunday to Saturday, including days, nights, weekends, with shared call. Flexibility is appreciated—please specify your preferences.
5. Additional Skills: Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric and mental health needs.
• Providing care for family units, urgent and emergency mental health situations, and public health management.
• Case management and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
• Gender-specific care, including transgender health and mental health management during pregnancy.
