PSYCHIATRIST SCHEDULE:

• Part-Time
• Per Diem
• Day Shift

Position Summary

The Chief Psychiatrist provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment, psychiatric consultation, and supervises clinical staff. Responsibilities include approving treatment plans, creating discharge plans, and managerial duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of medical school with completed psychiatric residency
• Licensed to practice in Virginia and certified by the Office of Behavioral Health
• Current DEA number

Essential Functions:

• Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
• Document history, diagnosis, and treatment
• Offer psychiatric services for inpatients and those in the general population
• Coordinate transfers to Behavioral Health facilities
• Participate in treatment planning and staffing
• Manage medications and provide therapy as appropriate
• Monitor treatment plans and discharge procedures
• Provide staff education and attend required training
