Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN) seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our FQHC in Gering, Nebraska, delivering patient-centered behavioral health care. You will work in an integrated care team to coordinate medical, dental, behavioral health, and outreach services for comprehensive care.

The role emphasizes collaborative practice, adherence to statutes, and commitment to serving underserved populations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited NP program (psychiatric focus).
• Current Nebraska Psychiatric NP license in good standing.
• Knowledge of assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental dysfunctions.
• Ability to collaborate with physicians, therapists and other health professionals.
• Commitment to serving medically under-served populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessment and diagnosis and create outcome-based treatment plans.
• Order, conduct and interpret relevant labs and diagnostics with proper follow-through.
• Prescribe, monitor and evaluate psychotropic medications.
• Educate and counsel to promote positive health behaviours.

Your Role:

• Provide patient assessment and diagnosis, and formulate outcome-based psychiatric treatment plans
• Order, conduct, and interpret pertinent laboratory and diagnostic procedures with appropriate follow through
• Prescribe, monitor, and evaluate psychotropic and related medications
• Promote positive health behaviours and self-care skills through education and counseling
• Consult, refer, and collaborate with other discipline involved in the delivery of total patient care
• Refer patients for inpatient care in accordance with statutes and protocols regulating the profession
• Assess real or potential health hazards including analysis of health behaviour related to lifestyle and culture
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records pertaining to treatment

What We Are Looking For:

• Master s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current license in good standing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Nebraska
• Current and unencumbered DEAKnowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental dysfunctions
• Ability to collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other health professionals as needed
• Demonstrated professional commitment to providing services to medically under-served individuals in a public health setting
