Coleman Health Services in Canton, Ohio seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse (PMHNP/CS) to lead psychiatric care for our clients. You will screen, diagnose, treat, and manage mental health with a collaborative team of professionals in a community-focused setting.

Responsibilities include prescribing medications, coordinating with psychiatrists, and utilizing crisis interventions as needed. Ohio licensure, NPI, CAQH, and Medicaid enrollment are required. Competitive salary with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Ohio license as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist with prescriptive authority
• Must maintain a Standard Care Arrangement with an identified Coleman Psychiatrist in accordance with the State of Ohio Board of Nursing
• Must have an NPI number, be enrolled as a provider to bill Ohio Medicaid, and have a CAQH account created

Responsibilities

• Apply medical knowledge to screen, diagnose, treat, and manage the mental health care of clients while maintaining client data in an electronic health record.
• Administer psychiatric treatment, including prescriptions and medication reviews.
• Assess hospitalization need.
• Establish initial treatment plan and monitor progress.
• Initiate referrals to internal or external providers.
• Provide psychiatric consultations and program consultations.
• Educate individuals and families about medication management.
• Coordinate with psychiatrists, physicians, and other providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in team-based responses to behavioral and psychiatric emergencies, including implementation of seclusion and restraint interventions when clinically indicated and authorized in accordance with Ohio law, agency policy, and approved training methods.
• Utilize verbal de-escalation, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention techniques to reduce risk and support stabilization.
