Job summary

Seaside Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care for psychiatric patients and those with acute behavioral disorders. The role requires use of the nursing process, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the RN, physicians, and other team members.

Candidates must be licensed in Louisiana with at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Strong communication skills and adherence to safety protocols are essential for quality patient

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice nursing in Louisiana.
• 1 year of recent medical-surgical or psychiatric experience preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing process and clinical practice for psychiatry and medical-surgical care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care.
• Administer medications following the 6 rights and proper documentation.
• Report changes in inpatient condition to the Director of Nursing.
• Document nursing care and patient responses.
• Collaborate with RN, physicians and the care team.
• Report abuse or neglect to supervisor as required.
