Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Broussard is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse to provide focused nursing care for adults and seniors with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a setting that combines inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care.

You will document assessments, administer medications per physician orders, and support patients through treatment plans while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current, valid LVN/LPN license in the state of employment.
• Compact licenses accepted where applicable.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality nursing care to assigned patients and documents findings.
• Communicates assessment findings with the care team.
• Performs nursing interventions per treatment plan and physician orders.
• Conducts bedside tests, wound care, and assists with ADLs.
• Administers medications safely and provides patient education on meds.
• Transcribes orders and audits charts to ensure accuracy.
• Precepts and guides new staff as needed.
